🚜 Crops
What technical itinerary and agronomic management?
The sowing was carried out by drone on a barley crop. I didn't add any nitrogen fertilization during the crop, the post-harvest residual was sufficient to produce the camelina. The camelina absorbed around 35 kg of nitrogen per hectare.
How did the harvest go?
I carried out the harvest with my combine harvester. With pre-harvest sowing, it was necessary to harvest as quickly as possible to prevent the camelina from emerging in competition with the crop in place or risking damage to it during harvesting. The combine was set up on a rapeseed basis. I simply adjusted the beater speed and the fan speed. It was simple because the crop was quite clean. The harvest was done at 13% moisture. Regenrate took care of bringing it back to standard at 9%. I was surprised to have so little moisture for an autumn harvest.
What advantages have you found with camelina?
It's a crop that requires very few inputs and little mechanical intervention while offering interesting seed quantities. I produced between 7 and 10 quintals of seeds. Additionally, camelina reduces fungal pressure on my following wheat, particularly root diseases.
The advantage of Regenrate
I recommend it for the simplicity of implementation: I take care of the production, they take care of everything else. Moreover, I appreciated the technical support during the crop as well as the exchanges with other producers.
